Northern Rigging can make new wire standing rigging and lifelines for your sailboat! We are currently equipped to handle 1/16" through 5/16" wire rigging on location, using 1x19, 7x7, or 7x19 wire rope. Vinyl coated wire is also available. We can swage turnbuckles, forks, eyes, and other terminal ends. Larger wire sizes and rod rigging are also available. We use the highest quality materials and fittings, including 316 stainless steel wire and chromed bronze open body turnbuckles from Hayn Marine. All swaging is done with a WireTeknik roll swager.
Here on the Great Lakes we can get many years of service out of our rigging. However, even in fresh water, corrosion can eventually take it's toll. Inspect your rigging regularly for rust, broken wire strands (meat hooks), and cracked fittings. Any wire with a broken strand or cracked swage fitting should not be used. Regular maintenance and inspection is the best prevention of rigging failures.
